Alzheimer's Awareness Month

June is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, so we thought we'd share some statistics from the Alzheimer's Association about this awful disease.

  • More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million.

  • In the United States, Alzheimer's and Dementia deaths have increased 16% during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

  • 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.

Most people might not assume the shocking numbers related to these diseases would be so high, which is why it's imperative to raise awareness not only in June, but in every month.

We will continue posting about Alzheimer's and Dementia resources and information and resources throughout the month.
